Slippery Fingers

Blank face of the paper
thirsting for the drop of ink
left dry and stranded by a friend
gazes out,as a
parched traveller who is
betrayed by the reflections of water

At a loss for words
seeking refuge behind the walled but
blurred boundaries of
sung and unsung crimes
the pen twitches as it lingers
picks up pace to lose itself
and starts rolling
between the fingers

A new angle dawns on the battle
grimacing paper forces out a grin
starts its retreating journey to
fold itself up as a smile
nodding in approval
betrayal turns to
complete the circle
burdened fingers that knew
revenge was a given
slowly start to let the
pen slip by

Going down,knocking
behind the closed door
the paper starts laughing
nowhere to go
the pen starts slashing
