Attached, but Detached

The deeper you delve within yourself, the more you channelize inwards, you would soon realize you are becoming more of an observer of the ecosystem around you rather than being an active participant.

This would be the stage of partial detachment I believe.Being attached but also being detached.Or in still other words maybe, (from whatever little I understood reading some abstract Buddhist text - abstractness I'm thankful to for it helped me derive a meaning which I would want to believe in), realization of attachment being the foundation on which your sense of detachment would begin.

Partial detachment because at this stage you are still playing your part in the ecosystem.Performing actions and facing the consequences of your actions etc.But here is the qualitative difference. You are playing the part alright. But now you are also observing yourself play and being played. Those emotions that were generated where you yourself became that particular emotion, now you see a breathing soul experiencing such emotions.Your actions, their consequences, other's actions, their consequences - all these become superficial in the sense that whereas earlier they were the be all end all of your thought process and to which you developed and directed all your reactions, now seem to be no more than mere sense perceptions, so to say.As an outsider, now you don't simply react, but you go one level up in delving into circumstances which lead you and others to behave in the way you and they do, and what you see in terms of actions, reactions, consequences become mere external manifestations of the ever invisible, ever dynamic workings of the human mind.

Once this level of consciousness seeps in, although you still remain an actor wondering what is going on and who the director of your movie is, you can allow yourself that degree of directorial flexibility in having multiple choices to choose from, so that you can, in your lifetime, not only hope for a happy ending, but also a frame by frame good quality scene.
